Terms and Conditions for Participants

Trackdaymagazine.com (hereinafter known as TDM) operates its Track Events in accordance with the AMRCO code of practice for Trackday Operators. (A full copy of our operating procedures is available on request)

A Participant is any individual rider who is allowed access to the circuit during the Track Event.

The events are designed to allow members of the public to ride their motorcycles on various race circuits in a recreational manner with no competition, timed practising, pace-making or racing.

All participants will be advised of any special restrictions prior to the track activity (noise, type of vehicle, licence requirements etc). If a Venue Operator chooses to impose additional special restrictions then TDM will advise participants in advance of any track activity.

All participants must hold a full UK driving licence or non-UK equivalent or otherwise satisfy the Organiser and the Venue Operator as to their competence in handling the vehicle they intend to ride. Participants may be asked to confirm this within their indemnity for the event.

All participants MUST attend a briefing, which will be carried out by a competent and suitably experienced person.

TDM will provide a detailed briefing for all participants carried out by a competent and suitably experienced person

Please refer to the Safety Briefing for a full list of the items to be covered.

No participant shall consume or be under the influence of alcohol at any time.

No participant shall be under the influence of drugs/medication (prescribed or otherwise) or have any pre-existing medical condition notifiable under the appropriate Road Traffic Acts that will adversely affect his or her performance.

The carrying of passengers on any motorcycle using the circuit is strictly prohibited.

All participants must sign the necessary indemnities prior to going onto the circuit. Anybody under the age of 17 must have the indemnity countersigned by a parent or guardian.

Guidelines as to the suitability of vehicles intended for use on Track day events:-

Cat1. Motorcycles.

Motorcycles which are Road Homologated Vehicles or Track Day Vehicles

Cat2. Racing Motorcycles.

Motorcycles prepared for racing as homologated by the FIM, MCRCB and ACU.

Both the above categories must comply with the relevant noise restrictions imposed upon individual circuits.

Although TDM may advise or recommend upon vehicle preparation, it must be emphasised to all Participants that it is the responsibility of the vehicle user to ensure that the vehicle is in a safe condition to ride at high speed on the circuit for the duration of the track event.

If your vehicle is deemed to be unsafe/unsuitable then TDM or the Venue Operator will have the right to stop you taking part in the event until the vehicle is suitably rectified. If the vehicle cannot be rectified then you will be excluded from the event without refund. This regulation also applies to the noise limits in force at any individual circuit. If your machine fails the noise test and cannot be silenced to within the limits set by the circuit then you will be excluded from the event without refund. There will be no discretionary relaxation of this rule. Noise limits are enforced rigourously, you are jeopardising the future of all trackdays by annoying the neighbours of circuits with unnecessary noise levels. The dB limit for each event will be published in the information available for each event prior to a participant arriving at the circuit.

TDM recommends that all lights and indicators are taped and mirrors removed or turned in and taped. It is a good idea to tape over the speedo too.

Incidents/Accidents:-

No refunds will be given in the event of you being involved in an accident which through damage to yourself or your vehicle precludes you from continuing with the event.

Registration on the day/eve will include signing-on for the day/eve, completion of indemnity forms, and production of driving licences.

All participants will be placed in specific sessions/groups having regard to their experience and the type of vehicle being used. The mix of participants/vehicles within any session/group will be monitored so as to ensure that abilities are comparable.

Participants attendance of the briefing will be monitored and a coloured wrist band will be issued to each participant upon completion of the briefing in order to confirm that they have attended the briefing prior to going onto the circuit. These wrist bands will be checked by a TDM/Circuit Official prior to you going on track so please have them easily accessible to save time in the holding area.

Access to the track will be monitored at all times to prevent unauthorised access. TDM will provide a sticker system which will clearly indicate the group/session in which each vehicle/participant is authorised to ride.

Information with regards to Health and Safety regulations will be available from TDM.
